Growing the Pipeline
Filling the drug pipeline is a critical goal for biopharmaceutical companies. GPC Biotech’s innovative technologies are being used to fuel the Company’s drug discovery engine and to grow its oncology pipeline.
Traditionally, genomics and proteomics technologies have been focused on understanding the underlying causes of disease and identifying new approaches for early-stage drug discovery. More recently, there has been increased emphasis on prioritizing and optimizing later-stage discovery and development programs. GPC Biotech has proprietary technologies that support this latter approach. These technologies focus on understanding how drugs work inside the body in order to predict more accurately their efficacy and safety profiles. Using this information to create new drugs, or to modify existing drugs, can improve the chances for successful clinical development and may shorten time to market entry.
The Company is using this approach to enhance and grow its oncology pipeline.
In addition to internal uses, GPC Biotech's proprietary technologies are being utilized in the Company's pharmaceutical collaborations, such as its multi-year alliance with ALTANA Pharma AG working with the ALTANA Research Institute in the U.S.
